  • Contrasts and Opposites:
This chapter seems to be a major point of division which sees the novel divided into two distinct halves. The structure reinforces a major idea in the text, one of binary opposites, which expose the reader to contrasts such as beauty and horror; peace and war; joy and despair; innocence and experience. Can you find evidence for the opposites suggested above? What other contrasts are there in Fly Away Peter?
